My brother took this photo of me this weekend, at a local anime convention. I was dressed as Bastila from Knights of the Old Republic. MAN that costume was a PAIN to make. But it was a labor of love, and looked flippin' awesome when it was done.
The lightsaber is real. And by 'real' I mean 'not photoshopped at all'. One of the vendors in the dealers' room, Pan-Galactic Bizzar, was selling them and was kind enough to let me play with one. This is us fighting. This gives you an idea of what the back looked like.
The base of the costume is a peachy swimsuit-type fabric in two pieces (worn with another layer underneath for modesty), and the armor is a burgundy vinyl that was a $#(*&@ pain to sew through. Not to mention all the stupid layers.. My mom is truly a saint to put up with all my whining and help me the thousand times I screwed up. And my hair's much longer than Bastila's, so it looks a little funny. But you do what you can, right?

I actually made a lightsaber - a glowing one - out of a pipe once. Not very shiny, but wait until you light it in a dark room!
