My brother took this photo of me this weekend, at a local anime convention. I was dressed as Bastila from Knights of the Old Republic. MAN that costume was a PAIN to make. But it was a labor of love, and looked flippin' awesome when it was done.
The lightsaber is real. And by 'real' I mean 'not photoshopped at all'. One of the vendors in the dealers' room, Pan-Galactic Bizzar, was selling them and was kind enough to let me play with one. The flash kinda took the color out of me, but you get a decent idea of the layering on the pieces.
The base of the costume is a peachy swimsuit-type fabric in two pieces (worn with another layer underneath for modesty), and the armor is a burgundy vinyl that was a $#(*&@ pain to sew through. Not to mention all the stupid layers.. My mom is truly a saint to put up with all my whining and help me the thousand times I screwed up. And my hair's much longer than Bastila's, so it looks a little funny. But you do what you can, right?
